Lady Rangers Fall at Hinds, 2-0

Box Score RAYMOND – Northwest dropped its first road contest of the season on Friday evening at Tom Shepherd Field as the homestanding Hinds Lady Eagles won a 2-0 decision.

Hinds improved to 4-3 overall and stayed unbeaten in the north at 3-0, while Northwest dropped to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in division play.

Scoreless late in the first half, Hinds' Alexa Johnston gave the home team a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute off a Darien Ellison assist, which proved to be the game-winner.

Maddie Edmonson made it 2-0 Hinds in the 62nd minute to cap the scoring. 

Northwest could never get its offense going and Hinds dominated the match statistically by outshooting the Lady Rangers 17-5 and drawing six corners against none. 

Robin Cooper had two saves for Hinds, while Morgan Wilson had four in the loss.

Northwest will try and bounce back on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at home against Itawamba.
