It was quite the debut for freshman quarterback Gardner Minshew at Jones County on Aug. 29, 2015, with the freshman completing 21-of-31 passes for 332 yards and a touchdown in the Rangers' 42-20 win. Minshew added three rushing touchdowns, all from 1-yard out.

For his performance, Minshew was selected the MACJC Offensive Player of the Week.

The Brandon native will be one to watch this year, already earning preseason recognition by the NJCAA as a top incoming freshman. Minshew threw for over 11,000 yards and accounted for 105 total touchdowns at Brandon High School.
