Brenton Jones enters his first season as an assistant coach on the Rangers staff. He comes to Senatobia after a year at Southwest Mississippi Community College where he was an assistant coach.
The Taylorsville native graduated from Southern Mississippi in 2026 with a bachelor's degree in sport coaching.
He spent time at Jones College as a student assistant with the Women’s basketball team, coached for 2 seasons at Petal High School as an assistant coach, and most recently, served one season as an assistant coach at Southwest Mississippi.
While at Jones, the Bobcats compiled a 51-12 record over two seasons. The 2021-2022 team won the MACCC Tournament Championship, Region 23 Championship and reached the final four of the NJCAA National Tournament – which was the farthest the school had ever reached. The 2022-2023 Bobcats won the MACCC Championship, MACCC Tournament Championship and the Region 23 Championship. Seven players from this team signed to play D1.
While at Petal he was an assistant boys’ basketball coach. In his first season, the Panthers won 17 games, 11 more than the previous year.
In his lone year at Southwest Mississippi, the Bears finished runner-up in the conference, reached the final four of the region tournament, and sent four players to the division one level: Cy Merritt (Southern Mississippi), Leano Rolle (Missouri State), Courterius Scott (Stephen F Austin), and Andre Ngomabie (South Carolina State).
