Amber Thomas, LAT, ATC, begins her ninth year at Northwest as part of the athletic training staff and covers men’s/women’s soccer and softball.
A native of Hernando, Thomas is employed by Endurance Physical Therapy an Athletico Company. She is a Northwest alumnus and was a former member of the Ranger softball team from 2008-09.
A former athlete at Hernando High School and Lane College as well, Thomas aspired to become an athletic trainer after suffering the first of three knee injuries entering her senior year of high school.
Thomas received her bachelor’s in physical education and health recreation in 2011 from Lane College while playing two seasons for the Lady Dragon softball team. She hit .362 in two seasons and was 6-4 in the circle, earning All-SIAC Second Team honors as a junior. Thomas was an SIAC All-Academic Team selection and Honor Roll student as a senior.
Thomas received another bachelor’s in athletic training in 2014 from Delta State where she covered football, men’s and women’s soccer and women’s basketball. She was also a member of Zeta Phi Beta sorority.
Thomas has been ATC, LAT certified since 2014 and her first job was covering Strayhorn football and basketball and Hernando softball and baseball.
She is the daughter of two retired military parents, Iziah and Nikki Thomas.
