Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers

2013: Played in 14 rounds on the year with a 79.1 scoring average...placed in the Top 10 twice and Top 15 five times, including a season-best 6th place finish at the Co-Lin Invitational after shooting a two-day 149 (74-75)...shot a career-low 74 (twice) at the Co-Lin Invitational and in the NJCAA Region 23 Championships...member of the Fall 2013 President's List. 

High School: Played golf and basketball at East Poinsett County (Ark.)...coached by his dad in golf and was a four-time all-state and three-time all-district selection...the Warriors were also two-time district champions and made the state playoffs twice...played for Josh Hill on the hardwood, winning back-to-back state championships...graduated with a 3.9 GPA...also received college interest from Arkansas-Monticello and Northeast Mississippi CC.

Personal: Son of Bo and Karen Powell...has a younger sister, Anna (16)...enjoys playing basketball and NBA 2K14 in his free time...owns the course record at Three Rivers Country Club, his home course in Marked Tree, Ark., firing an 8-under-par 64 in the summer of 2013...majoring in general college...born April 13, 1994.
