Guy Purdy enters his eighth season as an assistant coach with the Northwest men's golf team.

Under Purdy's eye, the Rangers have been nationally-ranked in five of the past six seasons by the NJCAA and GolfStat.com.

Northwest has sent five golfers to the NJCAA National Tournament the past seven seasons, including three Top 40 finishes and a Top 10 finish by two-time all-american Chad Cupples in 2013.

Northwest placed in the Top 5 in seven of 14 events during the extended 2015-16 season, playing both a fall and spring schedule. The Rangers have played for the MACJC State Championship in each of the past 10 seasons.

Purdy recently retired from Northwest after over 20 years of service to the College.

He started at Northwest in 1995 as a Workforce Development Coordinator, responsible for planning, supervising and implementing workforce training programs for local business and industry. After spending six years in that role, he then became the Director of Adult Basic Education where he served for 16 years.
