2023 [Freshman]: Made six relief appearances on the mound, garnering two strikeouts...off the field, was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and the Vice President's List for the Spring 2023 semester.

High School: Played for coach John Walker at Lafayette...helped the Commodores to an 18-8 overall record and a Region 2-5A championship...made six appearances on the mound, finishing with a 1-1 record and 20 strikeouts...participated in the NEMBCA Class 5A-6A All-Star Game...as a junior, helped LHS to a 20-15 overall record...made seven appearances on the mound, finishing with 11 strikeouts...graduated with high honors at LHS and was a scholar athlete throughout his high school tenure...received interest from Rhodes College and several MACCC programs...teammates with current Ranger Blake Loper.

Personal: Son of Abbe Barfield and Jon Mitze...has three siblings, Brennan Barfield (19), Spencer Mitze (18) and Adrianna Barfield (14)...grandfather, Bill Mitze, played football at Illinois State...enjoys fishing, hunting and bird-watching in his free time...studying biological engineering...nickname is “Coop”...born September 8, 2003.
