Biography

2022 [Freshman]: Played in 13 games last season with 15 at-bats...hit two doubles and was credited with three RBIs on the season...went 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI in a win against Copiah-Lincoln on April 23...off the field, named to the Vice President's List for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters.

High School: Played for coach Cory Burns at Leake Academy...led the Rebels with a .424 batting average, seven doubles, four triples, three home runs and 14 RBIs as a senior...also tallied seven stolen bases...started his senior season as a selection to the Capital Sports Preseason Players to Watch list, and ended it with a selection as an MAIS 3A-5A All-Star...named to the MAIS All-District 2-5A first team...recognized by Perfect Game as the No. 6 outfielder in Mississippi and selected to the 2020 Perfect Game Summer Main Event Top Players list...helped the Rebels to seven victories as a junior, despite a COVID-19 shortened season...batted .351 with two doubles, two triples and seven RBIs...went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and two RBIs in an 11-5 win against Vicksburg on March 10, 2020...stole 11 bases on the season...posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage and was 8-for-8 on putout attempts...also saw limited action on the mound, striking out four batters in two appearances...as a junior in 2019, helped Leake Academy to a 12-10 overall record...hit .342 with six RBIs in 38 at-bats...hit 3-for-5 in back-to-back wins against Canton Academy...stole 12 bases on the season...finished 8-for-8 on putouts...also played football for Leake Academy where he was named team MVP, MAIS Class AAAAA Player of the Year, and scored on a fourth quarter pick six to seal Leake Academy's first ever undefeated season and MAIS Class AAAAA state championship in 2020…off the field, remained on the school's Honor Roll all 12 years...received recruiting interest from Samford, Central Arkansas and multiple in-state schools.

Personal: Son of Hope and Dustin Cheatham...has a sister, Caroline (15)...enjoys working out, hunting and hanging out with friends in his free time…college major is undecided…nickname is “Cheeto”…born December 16, 2002.
