Arkansas Baptist [2013-14]: Played for head coach Shawn Regan and the Buffaloes...(as a freshman) fighting an elbow injury, he went 2-5 with 28 strikeouts in 33 innings of work, 19 of those were shutout innings...went 8-1 with 73 strikeouts and a 1.68 ERA in 54 innings in the summer with American Legion Baseball...sat out the 2014 season after having Tommy John surgery in October 2013.  

High School: Played for head coach Mark Hindsley at Newport (Ark.)…as a senior, went 6-2 with a 1.54 ERA and 104 strikeouts in 63 innings...hit .436 from the plate with six home runs and 33 RBIs...as a junior, posted a 1.00 ERA with 156 strikeouts in 77 innings of work...named a 2011-2012 Under Armour Preseason All-American and was a two-time all-state and all-conference selection.

Personal: Son of David and Linda Black…has an older brother, Ben (24)…his mother, Linda, played college basketball at Arkansas State...enjoys duck and deer hunting in his free time…studying health and physical education…born July 21, 1994.
