2023 [Freshman]: Played in 41 games, earning 36 starts...finished fourth on the team with a .301 batting average...also totaled four doubles, three triples, a home run and 28 RBIs...led the Rangers with five sacrifice flies...collected three hits in two different games, including a 3-for-4 effort in an April 4 victory against Coahoma...posted a .971 fielding percentage with 24 putouts and 43 assists in 69 total chances...off the field, earned a First Team NJCAA All-Academic nod and a 4.0 cumulative GPA...also received President's List and Athletic Director's Honor Roll distinction for the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters.

High School: Played for coach Jeff Munier at Collierville...helped the Dragons to a 37-11 overall record and the TSSAA Class 4A state quarterfinals last season...earned Offensive Player of the Year honors last season...also received All-Metro and team MVP accolades following his junior season in 2021...off the field, finished high school with a 3.6 GPA...received interest from Murray State and a handful of MACCC programs.

Personal: Son of Michelle and John Leatherwood...has three siblings, Hayden, Ty and Miley...brothers Hayden and Ty played baseball at Northwest, with Hayden also continuing his baseball career at Ole Miss (2020-22)...enjoys hunting, fishing and playing cornhole in his free time...studying business...nickname is “L-Wood”...born December 15, 2003.
