High School: Played for coach Mike Mattox at Booneville…helped the Blue Devils to a 6-5 record and the MHSAA Class 3A playoffs as a senior…versatile athlete who passed for 179 yards and a touchdown, rushed for 602 yards and nine touchdowns, and added 15 tackles and an interception during his senior season…led Booneville in receiving as a junior with 37 catches for 491 yards…selected All-Region 1-3A…was a member of the 2022 Class 3A state champion basketball team at Booneville.

Personal: Son of Orlando Shumpert and Lasonya Shumpert…has five siblings – Jontae, India, Destiny, Jakelzie, and Elijah…studying information technology…enjoys skating, fishing, and hanging out with family and friends in his free time…nickname is “LJ”…born October 9, 2002.
