2019 [Freshman]: Played in nine games for Northwest last season...rushed for 146 yards on 36 carries...his longest carry of 20 yards came in the Rangers' Homecoming victory against Coahoma on Oct. 10.

High School: Played for coach Michael Fair at Lafayette...helped the Commodores to a 9-4 record and the second round of the Class 5A state playoffs as a senior...amassed 1,266 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on 189 carries in his senior season...selected first team 5A All-State by the Mississippi Association of Coaches...averaged 9.5 yards per carry with a touchdown in Lafayette’s 2016 state championship victory...teammates with current Rangers Randy Anderson, Dylan Christman, Drew Dabney, Tavion Prather and Austin Wilson...received interest from nearly every MACJC program.

Personal: Son of Jamie and Joian Shaw...studying physical therapy...hobbies are working out and playing games...nickname is “J. J.”...born December 12, 2000.
