Named to the 2016 College Football Yearbook JUCO Starting Lineup

2015:
Played and started at center in 10 games as a true freshman...very smart, team leader who made a majority of the offensive calls on the line...graded out as one of the top three linemen on the team...drew interest from several Division I programs in the offseason.

High School: Played for head coach Doug Jones at Corinth...led the Warriors to an 8-4 record and a berth in the Class 4A state playoffs...rated as a 2-star prospect by Rivals...north team captain in the Bernard Blackwell All-Star Game...Mississippi Gridiron First and Second Team nod in 4A...featured in The Lemming Report as one of the top offensive linemen in Mississippi...all-state and all-division his junior and senior seasons...named to the Daily Journal’s All-Area team...off the field, received the Principal Award and graduated as a Mississippi Scholar...received interest from UNA, West Georgia, Louisiana-Monroe, Auburn, Ole Miss, Missouri and Louisiana among several others.

Personal: Son of Christy and Bobby Burns...has a younger sister, Sarah Kate (14)...uncle, Ross Genovese, played football for Ole Miss in 1985-86 and later the Memphis Showboats...enjoys the outdoors, specifically hunting and fishing...studying business and marketing...born February 20, 1997.
