Biography

USF [2013-15]: Received a redshirt his first season at South Florida to help recover from his ruptured achilles...played in 28 games as a redshirt freshman, averaging 0.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 7.7 minutes per game...scored a career-best eight points in the season-opener against Flagler College (Nov. 14)...grabbed a career-best seven rebounds at Tulsa (Jan. 31)...signed with USF on Nov. 4, 2012, choosing the Bulls over Florida, Georgia, Auburn, Temple and USC among numerous others.

High School: Played for head coach Reggie Kohn at Orlando Christian Prep...a 3-star prospect at power forward...averaged 7.5 rebounds per game before rupturing his achilles his senior year...averaged 11 points and 7.6 rebounds while shooting 55 percent from the field as a junior...helped lead OCP to the 2012 Class 2A State Championship while picking up first team all-state honors...All-Orange County as a sophomore at Evans High School and was rated the state's No. 9 prospect in the Class of 2013 by SourceHoops...his game has drawn comparisons to 11-time NBA All-Star Charles Barkley.

Personal: Son of Lisa Johnson and Earl Clayton...youngest of 11 brothers...named Dre’Kalo after his aunt’s friend Kalo, who was good at sports and died before he was born...originally from New Orleans in a neighborhood called Hollygrove, La., also home to rapper Lil Wayne...family relocated to Orlando following the flood caused by Hurricane Katrina in 2005...studying general college...born Nov. 30, 1993.
