CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Northwest Mississippi Community College women's soccer team (8-2) remained in the top five after a tough week of competition against Jones College and Holmes Community College saw them fall for the first time in 2026. 

The Rangers dropped three spots to a tie for fourth in the week four polls released on Tuesday, matching them with last year's national runner-up in Heartland Community College, who enter the week at 7-1-1. Jones College (8-2-1) moved up one spot to the top team in the country, and Holmes (9-0) also moved up one spot to third, with Johnson County Community College (11-2-1) out of Kansas taking the second position. 

The MACCC kept four teams in the top six, with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (8-0-1) remaining steady at sixth in the poll, and not far behind was Pearl River Community College (7-1) holding steady at 10th. 

Northwest is scheduled to face off against the Bulldogs of Gulf Coast on Friday in a road contest, although the possibility of severe weather over the weekend might see the game moved back to a later date. As it stands, kickoff would be at 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon in Perkinston.
