Ranger soccer remains in top spot of NJCAA polls after 2-0 week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Northwest Mississippi Community College women's soccer team remained in the top spot of the most recent NJCAA Division II Women's Soccer poll after another 2-0 week, improving their overall record to 5-0 as they prepare for conference play beginning this week. 

The Rangers opened the week with a 3-0 win over then #18 Southern Union State Community College on the road before routing the Nighthawks of National Park College on Friday in a 17-0 scoring fest for Northwest. 

Jones College moved up to #2 in the rankings, entering the week at 4-0-1, and Holmes Community College sits at #4, matching the Rangers in their overall record at 5-0. Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (#6, 4-0-1) and Pearl River Community College (#10, 3-1) round out the MACCC teams in the top 20. 

Northwest faces off with Copiah-Lincoln Community College (2-0-2) this week on Tuesday at 5 p.m. before heading on the road on Friday evening for a battle with Southwest Mississippi Community College (3-2-1), set for 5 p.m. on the road.
