Dearman earns NJCAA All-Tournament Team honors after impeccable week at nationals

SPARTANBURG, SC – After an impressive four-game run at the 2026 NJCAA Division II Softball World Series, Northwest Mississippi Community College saw freshman Meredith Dearman earn All-Tournament Team honors.

Dearman was stellar in the tournament, starting all four games for the Rangers and finishing with 25.2 innings of work while only giving up five runs and striking out 41 batters on the way to a 2-1 record while pitching the Rangers into the second round.

She also allowed only 12 hits and only walked five batters in the series.

The best performance of the tournament came on day one when she pitched a two-hit shutout against Cecil College in the opener before going seven innings in a one-hit loss to fourth-seeded Rock Valley College, where the only run came on a one-out triple in the fourth inning that was brought home on a sacrifice fly.

Dearman finished the season with a 21-8 overall record with 19 complete games and struck out 208 in 180 innings of work. This all while appearing in 38 games and posting a 2.80 ERA.

Her dominance was evident in the record books as well, becoming only the second player in program history to finish a season with 200-plus strikeouts, and finished with the third most innings pitched in program history. Her 21 wins are fifth in the school's record book, and her 38 appearances are just two away from a three-way tie for third.
