CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Northwest Mississippi Community College women's soccer team held their position at fourth in the most recent NJCAA women's soccer polls after a quiet week that didn't see any action for the Rangers.
The poll was headlined by Holmes Community College in the top position at 10-0 and coming off of a dominant 5-1 victory over Jones College in their only action of the week, and the Bobcats dropped to third in the poll after the loss dropped them to 8-3-1 on the season. Johnson County Community College (KS) is the only non-Mississippi team in the top five, holding steady at second with a 14-1-1 overall record.
Behind the Rangers, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (8-0-1) continues to sit in the sixth spot after they were also idle over the weekend after their match with Northwest was postponed due to weather. The only other team from Mississippi in the field is #9 Pearl River Community College, who improved by one spot with their record holding steady at 8-1 after a 10-1 win over East Mississippi Community College over the weekend.
Northwest will be back in action with a pair of big matches this week, starting on Tuesday when they play host to East Central Community College who enter the match with a 3-2 record in the both conference and overall. The match will be streamed live on Ranger TV starting at 4 p.m with the pregame show starting at 3:55. They will close out the week with a Friday battle on the road at Pearl River in their third game against ranked opponents in their last four matches.
