JACKSON - Following a strong 4-for-4 effort at the plate in Sunday evening's win against Northeast, Northwest sophomore Marleigh Mancini has been selected as the MACCC Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday morning.

Mancini, a native of Cleveland and a Bayou Academy alum, finished with a 1.000 batting average for the game and knocked in three RBIs. The biggest highlight came in the second inning, when she knocked a home run over the scoreboard in left center field, her first collegiate homer.

For the season, Mancini is batting .355 with a .526 slugging percentage. Northwest will face Copiah-Lincoln in the winner's bracket later today at 1 P.M.
