CORINTH - With a 10th place finish out of 12 teams, the Northwest men's golf team concluded the 2024-25 season at the MACCC Championships earlier this week.
Hosted at Shiloh Ridge Golf & Fitness in Corinth, the two-day tournament ran from April 14-15 and marked the start of the postseason for MACCC golf programs.Â
Wil Linehan, Jr. posted the highest individual finish among the Northwest competitors, placing 33rd overall with a stroke of 163, good for 19 over par.
Joshua Gibson and
Drew Dabbs tied for 41st on the player leaderboard, with the duo finishing +21, followed by
Landon Masterson's +23 result.
Jeremy Gibson competed in the opening round, but was subbed for
Evan Norman on the second day. Norman finished his only day of competition with a stroke of 93, good for 21 over par.
As a team, the Rangers were 82 over par, finishing ahead of 11th-place Pearl River and last place Copiah-Lincoln. Mississippi Gulf Coast won the event at +13, while Meridian finished second at 16 over par.
This year marked the first season of competition for the Northwest men's golf team since the 2016-17 season.
