Rangers Swept at No. 2 Pearl River

Northwest to visit Mississippi Delta Tuesday afternoon

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 POPLARVILLE - Facing off against second-ranked Pearl River on Sunday afternoon, No. 21 Northwest dropped a pair of run-rule losses to the Wildcats, falling 16-1 and 13-1.

Pearl River combined for 20 base hits in the two games, as the Rangers were limited to four in the opener and three in the nightcap. Northwest took early leads in both contests, but the Wildcats hit seven home runs on the afternoon to quickly erase any deficit.

Jackson Jenkins and Mason McMillin each hit solo homers in games one and two, respectively, providing the offensive highlights for the Rangers.

With the sweep, Northwest fell to 17-8 on the season and 0-4 in the MACCC. Meanwhile, Pearl River improved to 22-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

Next up for the Rangers is a midweek road trip to Mississippi Delta, scheduled for Tuesday, March 18 at 12/3 P.M. Northwest will then return home on Saturday, March 22 against Copiah-Lincoln at 2/5 P.M.
