CHARLOTTE - The slow ascent in the NJCAA Division II Baseball rankings continued this week for Northwest, as the Rangers inched up another spot to No. 15 in the latest polls, released Monday afternoon.
Now 31-12 on the season, the Rangers moved up after a 3-1 week, which included a sweep of Northeast and a split against Meridian. Northwest remains tied for second place in the latest MACCC standings, joining East Central at 16-4 inside the conference.
Northwest is one of four MACCC teams ranked in the latest polls, joining Pearl River at No. 2, East Central at No. 4 and Jones College at 12th. Additionally, fellow NJCAA Region 23 foe LSU-Eunice is ranked third after sliding from its previous No. 1 slot.
Northwest has two regular season home doubleheaders left on the schedule, with both twinbills occurring this week. The Rangers will welcome East Mississippi to Senatobia on Wednesday, April 17 at 2/5 P.M., before hosting Sophomore Day against Mississippi Gulf Coast on Saturday, April 20 at 2/5 P.M.
Both doubleheaders can be seen on Ranger TV.
