Rangers End Season with Road Loss

Box Score PERKINSTON - Northwest fought tooth and nail against one of the top teams in the MACCC on Monday evening, but Mississippi Gulf Coast eventually pulled away in the second half, earning a 91-75 victory against the Rangers.

Northwest shot 40 percent from the floor, while the Bulldogs finished shooting 47 percent. The Rangers were 33 percent from beyond the arc and 58 percent from the charity stripe, while Mississippi Gulf Coast finished 29 percent from three-point range and 71 percent from the free throw line.

Mississippi Gulf Coast also used the inside to its advantage, outscoring Northwest 48-28 in the paint.

Thomas Tangle led Northwest with 22 points, followed by an 18-point effort from Ja'Quise Richmond. Jordan Ealey led the Rangers with nine total rebounds and a team-best four assists.

Four Bulldogs reached double figures, led by Jabbari Berry's 19 points. Duran Parish also added 18 points, with eight rebounds and eight assists, falling just shy of a triple-double. Omarion Smith and Kaue Kalinowski accounted for 17 and 13 points, respectively.

With the loss, Northwest ends the 2023-24 season at 8-18 overall and 4-10 in the MACCC.
