Thursday Basketball Games Postponed

SENATOBIA - With the recent bout of winter weather still affecting travel across the Mid-South, Northwest has postponed Thursday's conference-opening basketball contests against Southwest Mississippi.

This marks the second consecutive Northwest men's basketball affected by the weather, with Monday's previously-scheduled contest against Baton Rouge Basketball Post Grad Academy being canceled entirely.

Snow accumulations of four inches or more remain on the ground as of Wednesday evening, and another system will arrive Thursday, bringing with it the chance for freezing rain and ice accumulations.

Both games will be played at a later date, per MACCC regulations. However, no official make-up date has been decided as of Wednesday evening.

Northwest will now turn its attention to next Monday, January 22, when the Rangers (4-8) and Lady Rangers (8-3) hit the road to face Copiah-Lincoln. The two programs squared off last Thursday at Howard Coliseum, with the Wolves and Lady Wolves sweeping both games.

Tipoff from Wesson is scheduled for 5:30 P.M., with the men's contest following at 7:30 P.M. Northwest will return to the home floor on Thursday, Jan. 25, hosting East Mississippi for a pair of 5:30 and 7:30 tipoff times.
