Burchyett Records 50th Career Win; Lady Rangers Split

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 HOLLY SPRINGS - Although a close loss at Rust College started the afternoon on a sour note for Northwest, the Lady Rangers more than made up for it with a 3-0 shutout of Lyon College on Tuesday afternoon.

The win against Lyon College proved to be a historical one, as it marked coach Allison Burchyett's 50th career win at Northwest. Burchyett is one of only two MACCC volleyball coaches to reach the 50-win mark, trailing only Haley Chatham at Pearl River, which began volleyball one season prior to the Lady Rangers' debut.

With the split, Northwest also improved to 15-14 on the season, matching last season's final record. The Lady Rangers need just one more win to set a new single season record for victories.

Next up for Northwest is a rare Friday triple-header in Alabama. The Lady Rangers will travel to Andalusia, Ala. to face Lurleen B. Wallace at 1 P.M., before taking on Enterprise State in a neutral-site match at 3 P.M. From there, the team will make the short drive to Brewton, Ala., facing Coastal Alabama-East for a 7 P.M. first serve.
