GLUCKSTADT - After dropping the opening set in its match at Millsaps on Tuesday evening, Northwest rallied back to win the second and third sets, but ultimately fell by a 3-2 final to the Lady Majors.
Millsaps took the first set from the Lady Rangers, 25-18, only for Northwest to rally back for a pair of 25-18 and 25-22 decisions in the following sets. Despite holding a 2-1 match lead, Northwest was unable to close out the victory in the fourth set, as the Lady Majors came back strong with a 25-14 win.
Facing a winner-take-all fifth set for the fourth time this season, Northwest was unable to pull out the win, falling 15-10 as Millsaps took the 3-2 match victory.
Freshman
Jacia Hayes provided a team-best 13 kills and four blocks, followed by 10 kills each from
Kailey Gooch and
Kaley Rikard.
Lia Ramos totaled 34 assists, while
Cristen Cleveland finished with 13 digs.
Northwest will now turn its attention to Freed-Hardeman on Thursday evening, as the Lady Rangers aim to snap a losing skid. The match is scheduled for 7 P.M. in Henderson, Tenn. and updates will be provided on
