SENATOBIA - Before the Northwest softball program departed for this week's MACCC Tournament on Tuesday, sophomore catcher
Molly Harris made her next destination official, signing with William Carey University.
Harris' signing comes roughly a week after three of her Ranger teammates also signed with their respective schools -
Laila Armstrong (Tennessee State),
Meagan Allen (Henderson State) and
Caylee Comer (Mississippi College).
Over her two-year career with Northwest, Harris has compiled a .322 batting average with 12 doubles, 12 home runs and 47 RBIs. The Senatobia native and Magnolia Heights product caught fire late last season at the plate and finished her freshman campaign with a .377 batting average, while earning the starting role behind the plate as a sophomore.
Harris has also posted a .988 fielding percentage this season and has foiled three stolen base attempts, committing just two errors in 169 total chances.
Harris is the first Ranger in program history to sign with William Carey, a member of the National Intercollegiate Athletic Association (NAIA) and the Southern States Athletic Conference. The Crusaders are currently 45-9 on the season and 22-4 against conference competition.
