Shooting Woes Plague Northwest in Loss to Meridian

Rangers to host Coahoma on Thursday

SENATOBIA - Offensive struggles were the story for Northwest in Monday evening's 71-55 loss to Meridian.

Additionally, the Eagles were 8-for-18 from three-point range (44%), while the Rangers were limited to just 16 percent from beyond the arc.

Meridian led by only five at halftime, 29-24, but the Eagles spent the second half pulling away, even leading by as many as 21 points with just over five minutes to go.

Joseph Cooper led the Rangers with 14 points, while Marquavous Jones provided 11 points off the bench. Jaylon Sanders also added 10 points and Devin Moore led the way with 11 rebounds to go with his six points.

Chad Jones led Meridian with 23 total points, followed by 12 from Calexis Campbell. Randarius Hughes came away with a double-double, earning 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Talib Ferrette fell just short with 11 points and nine boards.
