Box Score COLUMBUS - Competing in one of its final road matches of the season, Northwest was able to rebound after a second set loss and defeat MUW JV 3-1 on Tuesday evening.
Northwest claimed a thrilling first set by a 25-23 score, before the Lady Owls flipped the script and claimed the second set by an identical score. The Lady Rangers shook off the 1-1 tie by earning the final two sets by 25-17 and 25-20 decisions.
Kapria Manning led with 14 kills and two blocks, while
Julissa Soto tallied 11 kills and a team-high 25 digs.
Taylor Smith also collected 24 digs in the victory, while freshman
Kayla Beal totaled 15 digs and a pair of aces.
Additionally,
Brinley Steed compiled a team-leading 17 assists in the victory, while
Jaclyn Carter also provided two service aces.
Chariah Mabry led the blocks category with four total, three assisted.
Northwest will travel to Freed-Hardeman on Friday, October 1 at 6 P.M., before gearing up for an eight-match homestand, beginning with Itawamba on Tuesday, October 5.
