RAYMOND - A pair of goals from freshman
Molly Rose was all Northwest needed in its road tilt at Hinds Friday night, as the 17th-ranked Lady Rangers delivered a 2-0 shutout against the Lady Eagles.
Rose scored five minutes into the match on an unassisted goal and later scored off an assist from
Miriam Groscost in the second half.
Hinds remained within striking distance for the duration of the contest, but the Lady Rangers' defense did their job in keeping the Lady Eagles off the scoreboard. Sophomore goalkeeper
Maggie Olive tied her season-high of seven saves, moving to 30 saves on the year and only four goals allowed.
With the win, Northwest remained unbeaten at 7-0 overall and 2-0 in MACCC North Division competition. The Lady Rangers will return home on Tuesday, September 21 at 1 P.M. for a contest against division rival Itawamba.
Kickoff for Tuesday's matchup is set for 1 P.M. from the Senatobia Sports Park. The match will be streamed live on Ranger TV (nwccrangers.com) and Facebook Live, with live stats coverage also available on nwccrangers.com.
