ULLIN, Ill. - A short turnaround from Friday proved to be no issue for Northwest, as the Lady Rangers rolled on the road at Shawnee and against Harris-Stowe State on Saturday afternoon.
It was the Lady Rangers' first doubleheader sweep on the season, as Northwest improved to 3-8 overall.
Northwest will turn its attention a road match at Pearl River, slated for Tuesday, September 14 at 5 P.M. The Lady Rangers are 0-2 on the season so far against the Lady Wildcats.

(Set scores: 25-4, 25-5, 25-16)
Northwest wasted no time getting off on the right foot, as freshman
Kayla Beal rattled off five aces in a row to help the Lady Rangers to a blowout in the opening set.
In the second set, it was
Julissa Soto that stood out, as the sophomore held serve for 11 straight points in a 25-5 second set victory.
Shawnee clawed back a little in the third set, but Northwest was unfazed and remained comfortably ahead to clinch the match.
Just about everyone got onto the stat sheet for the Lady Rangers, led by nine kills from
Kapria Manning.
Lia Ramos provided 13 assists, while
Kamryn Conner led with 11 digs.
Beal and Soto also combined for 11 aces, while
De'Aisha Browner led with two blocks.
Northwest 3, Harris-Stowe State 0
(Set scores: 25-19, 25-13, 25-17)
Harris-Stowe State provided a little more of a challenge for Northwest, but the Lady Rangers still delivered with another three-set victory.
Highlighting the match was a dominant second set for the Lady Rangers, as Beal went on a 10-serve streak, complete with an ace.
Allison Greene and
Chariah Mabry finished the set with three kills each, while
Taylor Smith added in a pair of digs.
