SENATOBIA - Details have been finalized for the MACCC Softball Tournament and Northwest baseball's NJCAA Region 23 Qualifier series.
For the Ranger softball team, the historic season will continue in next week's MACCC Softball Tournament in Fulton, Miss. Hosted by regular season conference champion Itawamba, the four-day event begins on Wednesday, May 5, when seventh-seeded Northwest faces No. 2 seed Mississippi Gulf Coast at 2:30 P.M. (Full bracket

In the regular season, Northwest and Mississippi Gulf Coast played to a slugfest on March 6, with the Lady Bulldogs taking a 14-10 victory in the opener and a 16-7 win in the nightcap.

Meanwhile, the Northwest baseball program will travel to Decatur, Miss. for the NJCAA Region 23 Qualifier series on Friday, May 7-Saturday, May 8. As the No. 8 seed, the Rangers will take on East Central, which enters the postseason as the No. 3 seed.
Game 1 from Decatur will begin at 6 P.M. on May 7, followed by Game 2 at 2 P.M. on Saturday, May 8. If necessary, a third and deciding game will also be played that evening, with the series winner advancing to the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament, scheduled for May 17-21 at conference champion Pearl River.
Northwest and East Central have met three times in the regular season, starting with a 6-4 non-conference victory for the Rangers on February 23. Earlier this month, Northwest also got the best of the then-No. 9 ranked Warriors by a pair of 5-4 and 6-4 finals in Senatobia.
