Weather Issues Force Changes For Baseball, Softball

SENATOBIA - Although it's only the first week of March, it seems that the new month's weather pattern is picking up right where February left off.

After a wet weekend in north Mississippi, a continued pattern of inclement weather has pushed back baseball and softball doubleheaders for Northwest.

Originally scheduled for Tuesday, both baseball and softball matchups with East Mississippi have been moved to Wednesday, March 3. The Rangers' baseball team will travel to Scooba for a 2/5 P.M. twinbill, while the Northwest softball program is slated to host the Lions in Oxford at mTrade Park (formerly FNC Park) for a 1/3 P.M. double dip.

Both teams were plagued by weather issues throughout the month of February, as most of the non-conference slate was washed away. Northwest sits at 6-4 overall in baseball, while softball is deadlocked at 3-3 on the season and 0-2 in the MACCC after suffering a sweep at Pearl River last Saturday.
