JACKSON - Following a stellar start to the season, Northwest sophomore infielder
Kelton Hall was selected as the first MACCC Baseball Player of the Week for 2021, the conference announced on Tuesday morning.
Voted upon by the conference's sports information directors, Hall earned Player of the Week after going 5-for-6 at the plate with an .833 batting average in a doubleheader sweep of Coahoma last Friday. The Ingomar native was responsible for six RBIs and a solo home run, while also compiling a .857 on-base percentage, 1.333 slugging percentage and a 1.000 fielding percentage.
Hall's efforts helped fourth-ranked Northwest to a pair of 11-1 and 15-5 run-rule victories against Coahoma, marking the 10th consecutive season-opening victory for the Rangers.
