Meagan Allen, RHP/INF
Lepanto, Ark. (East Poinsett County HS)
Helped East Poinsett County to a 21-12 overall record and the semifinals of the 2019 Centennial Bank/Class 2A state championship...went 61-25 in the circle for her varsity career and finished with a 2.03 ERA and 902 career strikeouts...batted .472 with 27 doubles, 11 triples, 10 home runs and 95 RBIs...posted a career fielding percentage of .911...posted 21 games with 10 or more strikeouts as a junior, including an 18-strikeout effort in a 4-3 win vs. Rivercrest...posted an .880 slugging percentage and a .545 on-base percentage during the 2019 season...struck out a career-high 19 batters in a 4-2 win against Walnut Ridge as a sophomore in 2018.
Coaches' Commentary: "Meagan is an extremely talented pitcher and overall player that was a big recruit for us in the circle and in the batters' box. It doesn't happen very often that are you able to get a pitcher that can also hit, but we struck gold with Meagan. Being our hardest thrower on the mound, she is going to allow us to keep teams off-balance and control the game. Before her senior year was cut short this spring, she was closing in on 1,000 strikeouts."
Morgan Langley, OF
Southaven, Miss. (DeSoto Central HS)
Helped DeSoto Central to a 26-5 overall record and the Class 6A state championship in 2019...batted .337 for her varsity career, including a .422 batting average during her junior season...posted a .409 career on-base percentage and a .917 fielding percentage...went 2-for-2 with three RBIs in a 12-0 win against Southaven in 2019.
Coaches' Commentary: "Morgan is a quick slapper and outfielder that is going to blend in well with the outfield we have already established this past year. At the plate, Morgan can use her speed and swing for a base hit, so she is very hard to defend. We're excited to add her to our roster, as she will begin to give us some of the speed we were looking for."
Laila Armstrong, OF
Olive Branch, Miss. (Center Hill HS)
Helped Center Hill to a 14-12-1 overall record and the second round of the Class 5A playoffs in 2019...compiled a .471 batting average during her varsity career with 23 doubles, nine triples, four home runs and 59 RBIs...finished with a slugging percentage of .642 and a .540 on-base percentage...finished 5-for-5 at the plate with a double, a triple and four RBIs in the 2020 season finale against Olive Branch last March.
Coaches' Commentary: "Laila is by far the happiest player I have ever seen play the game. When I accepted the head coaching job at Northwest and went out recruiting, I remember her coming up to me asking if her offer from the previous coaching staff still stood. Having her commit allowed me to have not only speed on the bases, but a lot of speed in the outfield with who we already have and who we are bringing in. Not to mention, she also has a cannon for an arm."
Molly Harris, C/INF
Senatobia, Miss. (Magnolia Heights)
Helped Magnolia Heights to a 34-4-1 overall record in 2019 as the Lady Chiefs captured the program's first MAIS Class AAAA state title...batted .511 with 15 home runs and a .630 on-base percentage.
Coaches' Commentary: "Molly Harris is the definition of a big time hitter. Last year at Magnolia Heights, she hit 15 homers during her senior season. We recruited speed so Molly could hit them in. She has added so much power to our lineup and is a strong contender behind the plate, with third base in the mix as well."
Caylee Comer, INF
Brighton, Tenn. (Brighton HS)
Helped Brighton to a 17-10-1 overall record in 2019...batted .365 for her varsity career with 15 doubles, a triple, eight home runs and 43 RBIs...posted a .622 slugging percentage and a .439 on-base percentage...earned a career-high four RBIs in a pair of games during her junior season...hit two home runs in a 7-3 loss to Dyer County in 2019.
Coaches' Commentary: "Caylee is another big hitter we were able to land from Tennessee. She is a competitor that will do anything she has to do in order to play. She is a strong corner for us defensively but also holds a lot of power at the plate. One thing I can say for Caylee, when she swings, she swings with everything she has."
Aunesty Dilworth, C/INF
Corinth, Miss. (Biggersville HS)
Batted .354 for her varsity career with 56 RBIs...finished with a .517 on-base percentage and a .932 fielding percentage.
Coaches' Commentary: "Recruiting Aunesty was a surprise. I say that because I knew she could hit well and I saw her hit two home runs in the first weekend I watched her, but I became really impressed when she began stealing bases. She is one of the few girls we saw that are able to hit the long ball and move quick as well. She will definitely surprise you on the field and on the base paths."
Maddie Brower, INF
Olive Branch, Miss. (Lewisburg HS)
Helped Lewisburg to a 24-2 overall record in 2019, Coach Bramlett's final season with the Lady Patriots...guided LHS to a Region 1-5A title as a junior and the second round of the 2019 Class 5A playoffs...hit .554 for her varsity career with 34 doubles, eight triples, 10 home runs and 111 RBIs...finished 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and five RBIs in one of her only games as a senior, a 13-1 victory against West Harrison last February...as a junior, went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple and two RBIs in a 14-0 win vs. Southaven.
Coaches' Commentary: "Having coached Maddie before, she was one of the first players I went after during the recruiting process. Maddie just looks the part - she has a phenomenal build and the amount of power she brings to her swing is unbelievable. She isn't slow on the bases either and she is tough in the middle infield. Maddie is an all-around player and we are really excited to see what she does at Northwest."
Haleigh Buchanan, C/INF
Tunica, Miss. (Tunica Academy)
Posted a .435 batting average and a .505 on-base percentage...caught eight runners stealing.
Coaches' Commentary: "Haleigh is one of our quieter players but she is one of the smoothest catchers I have seen behind the plate. She frames well, blocks well and she has been able to catch some really good pitchers this summer and has maintained them really well. Her ability to frame balls and get the most out of the strike zone is what really drew us to her."
Kaitlyn Bednarek, INF/OF
Olive Branch, Miss. (DeSoto Central HS)
Helped DeSoto Central to a 26-5 overall record and the Class 6A state championship in 2019...finished her varsity career with a .493 batting average, 29 doubles, eight triples, seven home runs and 60 RBIs...compiled an .802 slugging percentage and a .918 fielding percentage...went 6-for-10 with three doubles and two RBIs in a playoff sweep against Madison Central during her 2019 junior campaign...also finished 2-for-3 with five RBIs in an 18-3 victory against Horn Lake in April 2019.
Coaches' Commentary: "We were very excited when we were able to sign Kaitlyn. She was one of the top players at DeSoto Central, won several state championships, and in my opinion, is one of the top players in north Mississippi. She is great in the field and really shines at the plate. Kaitlyn can hit bombs but she is very consistent. I believe she will be a player that teams will fear, not necessarily because of the long ball, but because she is such a hard out to get."
Meredith Owen, OF/INF
Atoka, Tenn. (Tipton-Rosemark Academy)
Helped Tipton-Rosemark Academy to a 33-11-1 overall record in 2019 and a region finals victory against Jackson Christian...posted a .361 batting average with six doubles, five triples, a home run and 50 RBIs...also garnered a .429 slugging percentage and a .409 on-base percentage...went 3-for-3 at the plate with a triple and four RBIs in a 14-2 victory against Northpoint Christian in 2019...finished 16-for-17 on stolen bases as a junior.
Coaches' Commentary: "Meredith is one of those players I love to watch every game, because you can tell she has fun every single minute. She is always smiling, always making jokes, making people smile and playing with everything she has for every single second of practice and games. She is a full range outfielder, can play middle infield and slaps and hits from the left side. She is a really hard worker, good academically and I can't wait to see where she progresses from here."
Tiara Selmon, INF
Corinth, Miss. (Corinth HS)
Helped Corinth to a 20-6-1 overall record and the quarterfinal round of the 2019 Class 4A state playoffs...concluded her varsity career with a .337 batting average, 10 doubles, a triple, two home runs and 38 RBIs...posted a .438 slugging percentage and a .410 on-base percentage...finished 2-for-5 at the plate with a home run and four RBIs in a 19-2 victory against New Albany in March 2019.
Coaches' Commentary: "Tiara is a strong shortstop and has the ability to be a great utility player. She has great hands at the plate and is a tough out to get. She leads the infield well and keeps them focused. Tiara contributes to the team no matter where she is or what she is asked to do. If she is at shortstop, I don't recommend hitting the ball that way, because she is going to make the routine plays that will win us many games."
