CLINTON – Former Northwest and Mississippi College baseball standout
Hunter Wilson was named to the baseball All-Decade Team at Mississippi College over the weekend.
Wilson spent two seasons with the Choctaws from 2017-18 and appeared in 92 total contests, helping lead MC to the 2018 Gulf South Conference Championship and an appearance in the Division II Tournament. Wilson hit .329 for his career with 114 hits, including 19 from extra bases and scored 72 times with 59 RBIs.
Wilson was also an All-Gulf South Conference selection in 2017 at third base and a two-time GSC Academic Honor Roll selection.
Prior to his time at Mississippi College, Wilson began his college career with Northwest from 2015-16 and hit .351 with nine doubles, two triples and 38 RBIs, earning second team All-MACJC honors following his sophomore season.
As a sophomore, Wilson led the Rangers in hits (66) and sacrifice hits (12) during the 2016, finishing with a .357 batting average, six doubles, 34 runs scored, 28 RBIs and 11 stolen bases. He had a team-high 23-game hit streak during the year and finished with 16 multi-hit games.
Mississippi College All-Decade teams were selected by the athletics communications department with assistance from the coaching staffs of each sport. A student-athlete had to have competed in two seasons during the decade, and they were selected to the teams based on national, regional and conference honors, as well as, personal achievements and effects on the program, as a whole.
