Box Score CLINTON – A double-double from R.J. Duhart and a 24-point performance from Jakobi Pearson wasn't enough for Northwest to slow down a hot Jones College team in Thursday's Region 23 semifinal matchup, as the Bobcats ended the Rangers' season with a 79-69 loss.

Northwest fell behind 8-0 in the opening minutes of the contest and eventually trailed by 12 later in the first half. The Bobcats continued to expand their lead throughout the remainder of the first half, jumping out to a 39-21 advantage with 2:11 left to go.

Northwest entered the locker room down 42-28 at the break and despite a stronger second half effort, the Rangers were unable to fully recover and trailed by 10 or more for a majority of the second half.

Behind Pearson's 24 points, Duhart tallied 18 points and 11 rebounds while James Richards III totaled 14 points in the loss.

Jones College was paced by 19 points and 18 boards from SharDarrion Allen, one of three Bobcats to finish in double figures.

Jones College shot 49 percent from the floor while limiting the Rangers to 35 percent.

Northwest outperformed Jones in the paint, outscoring the Bobcats 38-26, only to see the opponents finish 47 percent from three-point range.

With the loss, Northwest concludes the 2019-20 season at 16-10 overall.
