Northwest fell to 1-3 overall while Meridian improved to 1-2-1 on the season.
Neither team scored over the first 38 minutes of the first half but both Northwest and Meridian traded shots back and forth, with the Lady Eagles holding a slight 10-9 advantage at halftime. Less than three full minutes into the second half however, the Lady Rangers issued a response. Team assist leader
Katelyn Rock finally got her name in the scoring column with a feed from
Ally Bailey and another in the 59th minute off a deflection from the defender, tying the match at 2-2.
Northwest would finally take the lead in the 71st minute as an own goal deflected off a Meridian shoulder and into the net.
Even after losing the lead, Meridian showed no signs of backing down and responded just a short time later to tie the match at 3-3, thanks to an Emma Boswijk goal off a free kick. Bowijk would again make things happen for the Lady Eagles in the 82nd minute, connecting with Annsleigh Shelley for the game-winning score.
