BOONEVILLE – After pitching his first career shutout in a 4-0 victory at No. 9 Hinds on Sunday, Northwest freshman left-hander Dalton Fowler has been selected MACJC Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday morning.

Fowler pitched a complete game, allowing four hits and struck out nine against one walk, improving to 5-1 with a 2.32 ERA. The Arlington, Tenn. native has been hot as of late, allowing just three unearned runs in his last three starts, combining for 26 strikeouts against six walks.

This is the fourth time the Rangers have garnered a conference Pitcher of the Week nod, as Parker Stinnett has won the award twice this season along with Jake Tyrone more recently.

Sitting at 25-7 overall, 14-4 in the conference and No. 15 in the national rankings, Northwest will face a pair of ranked opponents this week in No. 4 Itawamba and 13th-ranked Meridian.
