BOONEVILLE – Northwest sophomore forward Kendrick Fountain has been named Player of the Week in the MACJC, the league announced on Wednesday morning.

Fountain averaged 20.5 points and 9.5 rebounds, while shooting 59 percent from the floor (16-of-27) and 56 percent from beyond the arc (5-of-9), in games against EMCC and Delta.

The Holly Springs native and Itawamba CC transfer posted his second career double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds against EMCC and totaled a career-high 23 points and six rebounds against Delta.

Fountain is just the second Ranger to earn conference POTW honors this season, joining fellow sophomore and Nicholls State signee Jitaurious Gordon's nod in late January.

Fountain finished the season as the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 11.3 points per game, and tied with Quez Williamson as the team's leading rebounder with 129 boards.

Northwest concluded the regular season on Monday night with an 83-81 road victory at Holmes, finishing the season at 12-10 overall and 5-7 in the MACJC North Division.
