ATLANTA – Northwest sophomore guard Jitaurious Gordon has been selected to compete in the annual JUCO Report Top 100 event later this month that is open to all rising junior college freshmen and sophomores.

"Jitaurious had a strong, productive freshman season and was an all-conference performer for us," head coach Bubba Skelton said. "We feel like he'll show that he's definitely a Division I prospect and a top player to watch going into his sophomore year."

Scheduled for Saturday, July 21 at Holy Innocents' Episcopal School in Atlanta, the invitation-only showcase will host hundreds of college coaches from all levels, including Division I. Other members of national media and scouting services will also be in attendance.

A Second Team All-MACJC selection last season, Gordon averaged 14.3 points and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 46 percent from the floor and 35 percent from 3-point range. He scored in double figures in all but three games, including five 20-point games, to help Northwest to a division title, 22-4 overall record and No. 12 national ranking.

Gordon was a two-time All-Region 1-6A selection at Horn Lake High School where he averaged a team-best 26.2 points during his senior campaign and scored in double figures in all 29 contests, including a pair of 48 and 49-point performances against Olive Branch and Southaven. He ended his Eagle career scoring over 1,000 points.
