COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The NJCAA Baseball Coaches Association has announced the 2018 NJCAA National Team roster and coaching staff that will participate in the 84th National Baseball Congress World Series.

Sophomore outfielder/pitcher Brant Blaylock has been chosen to represent Northwest on this year's team, the first-ever selection for the program, and is one of five MACJC players on the roster.

The National Team, which is comprised of 25 players and five staff members, will assemble at Tyler Junior College July 25-26. The players and staff will train together for a week before departing for Wichita, Kansas, for the World Series from August 1-11 at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

"I'm extremely excited for this opportunity," Blaylock said. "Anytime you have the chance to wear the colors and have USA across your chest is special. To work so hard for so long at something and have other people finally take notice is always a rewarding feeling. I can't wait to get out there and compete with the best junior college players in the country."

Blaylock had a standout 2018 season in Senatobia after transferring in from Mississippi State, hitting .385 with an .833 slugging percentage and leading the team in hits (60), runs scored (52), multi-hit games (17), multi-RBI games (13), home runs (18) and RBIs (62). He was named First Team All-MACJC and NJCAA All-Region 23.

Snubbed for NJCAA All-American honors, the two-time MACJC Player of the Week selection and Southern Miss signee broke a 19-year school record with his 18th home run in the NJCAA Region 23 Playoffs against Gulf Coast. His 62 RBIs ranks second-best in a single-season.
