SENATOBIA – Northwest head men's basketball coach Bubba Skelton has announced the signing of 6-foot-8 transfer forward Miles Washington from Mississippi State.

"We feel like Miles can be a very versatile forward for us with his athleticism and length," Skelton said. "He spent a year at MSU where he's gotten bigger and stronger, so he should be more advanced coming into his sophomore year here at Northwest."

Washington played in six games as a freshman for the Bulldogs last season under head coach Ben Howland.

The standout forward averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds as a senior at New Albany High School and was named 2-4A Region MVP. He was All-District 2-4A as a junior and defensive MVP.

Washington was also selected to participate in the 2016 NEMBCA All-Star Game and is a two-time Hotbed Classic Player of the Game nod.
