MAUMELLE, Ark. – Two-time all-state shooting guard Tremont Robinson of Maumelle High School has inked a national letter of intent to play basketball for
Bubba Skelton and the Rangers next season.
"Tremont is a combo guard that brings a lot of experience to our backcourt having played in a strong division in Arkansas," Skelton said. "He can play either guard spot and is someone who can not only score the ball but can distribute it as well."
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound guard averaged 15.7 points, 3.9 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game for Maumelle last season, leading the Hornets to a 27-5 record and 5A state quarterfinal appearance.
Robinson scored in double figures in all but three games his senior season and scored a season-high 30 in an 80-72 win over Little Rock Christian Academy.
Robinson averaged 13.7 points as a sophomore and 16.5 points per game as a junior, leading Maumelle to back-to-back 5A state championship game appearances.
Named the second-best guard in central Arkansas by ARHoops.com last November and 10th in the Arkansas Basketball Rankings, Robinson will play in the Arkansas All-Star Game in June.
