All-Conference Guard Keelin Jackson Inks with Arkansas-Monticello

MONTICELLO, Ark. – Sophomore all-conference guard Keelin Jackson will take his basketball talents to the Great American Conference, making it official with Arkansas-Monticello recently.

"Keelin had a great two years with us at Northwest," head coach Bubba Skelton said. "He was a very consistent performer and great team leader. He'll join Tyrin (Jones) in a very strong program and I know he'll do great things for them."

After starting 11 contests as a freshman, Jackson became an every day starter for the Rangers in his sophomore campaign. He averaged 10.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game this season, scoring a career-high 19 points at East Mississippi and finishing with his only career double-double (16 points, 11 rebounds) on Dec. 1 against Missouri State-West Plains.

A native of Clarksdale, Jackson concluded his two-year Northwest career by averaging 8.7 points and 4.9 rebounds in 48 career games, adding 93 assists, 49 steals and 35 career blocks.

Jackson helped the Rangers to back-to-back MACJC Tournament appearances and a 31-18 record and was selected as an MACJC All-Star last month.

UAM won the GAC regular season championship and advanced to the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament, finishing 23-7 overall in 2016-17 under head coach Kyle Tolin.
