WESSON – In its final team event of the regular season, the Northwest men's golf team placed seventh in the MACJC Championship at Wolf Hollow Golf Club in Wesson.

Northwest was helped by a pair of Top 25 finishes from Cameron Foster (13th) and Heath Newsom (21st), but it wasn't enough to top six other MACJC clubs, including tournament host and runner-up Copiah-Lincoln (581).

Meridian shot an even-par 576 to win the event, with Gulf Coast (594) and East Mississippi (609) finishing third and fourth, respectively.

Northwest shot 313-310 as a team to finish the event with a 623 score. Devon Thomas (27th), J.T. Moffitt (31st) and Tanner Powell (43rd) rounded out the tournament competition for the Rangers.

Foster and Newsom will advance to the NJCAA District D Championship as individual participants (no team) on April 24-25 at Grand Bear Golf Course in Saucier.
