SENATOBIA – With MACJC playoff seeding and a possible region tournament berth on the line Thursday night for Northwest, the Rangers rallied from nine down with 7:20 left to force overtime before falling just short in a 92-90 setback to Itawamba.
Itawamba clinched the north's No. 3 seed and improved to 11-11 overall (7-5 north) while Northwest fell to 14-8 (7-5) and will be the north's No. 4 seed in next week's MACJC Tournament.
The team's exchanged seven leads in the first half and 19 total on the evening, with ICC taking a 37-35 lead into the locker room.
Trailing 37-30 with 1:45 to play in the first,

Itawamba responded with the next five points before huge 3-pointers from
Keelin Jackson and
Brandon Cranford made it 84-83 Rangers with 21 ticks left.
Sterling had a chance to extend the Ranger lead with 13 seconds left, but he missed the front end of a 1-and-1 which made way for Quenten Taylor to tie the game at 84-84 with one free throw with six seconds left.
Quickly pushing it down the floor after Taylor's missed free throw, Sterling's 3-point attempt at the buzzer hit the back iron and the game went into overtime.
In the extra period, ICC scored first with a pair of free throws and the Rangers tied it at 86-86 with Sterling's pair with 2:26 left.
Taylor would score all eight points for the Indians in the extra period and gave ICC a 92-87 lead with 16 seconds left in overtime.
Sterling's banked in 3-pointer with 12 seconds left made the final 92-90 as the Rangers were unable to foul to extend the game.
Behind Gosier's 27, Sterling finished with 25 and Jackson had 13 points and six assists. Brian Halums led ICC with 26, followed by Charles Brown III with 22 and Taylor with 20 points, 12 assists and six boards.
