Baseball Ranked 16th in Final NJCAA DII Poll

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Northwest is ranked 16th in the final NJCAA Division II Baseball Poll of the 2015 season released Wednesday, May 20, by the national office.

It's Northwest's highest final ranking since 2002, when the Rangers finished the season at No. 2 in the nation. The Rangers were also ranked 20th in last year's final NJCAA poll.

Northwest appeared in and out of the NJCAA poll over the course of the season, peaking at No. 16 on April 15. The Rangers won six games against ranked opponents during the year, including four wins against East Mississippi and one each against Meridian and Jones County.

The Rangers finished the season 33-17 overall and 19-9 in the MACJC, their most overall wins since the 2007 season (40) and the most conference victories since 2002 when the team earned 20 MACJC wins en route to a north division championship.

Under 10th-year head coach Mark Carson, Northwest has won 30 or more games in four of the last five seasons and finished with a winning record in nine straight years.
