SENATOBIA – Northwest rolled to a convincing 97-65 win against an overmatched Faith Prep Academy squad on Friday, its second in 10 days over the Warriors at Howard Coliseum.
Northwest moved to 6-2 with the victory as a dozen different Rangers scored a basket.
The Warriors led for the first 5:32 of the game before the Ranger offense kicked into gear. Trailing by four, Northwest strung together a 32-5 run to close the half and take a 42-19 lead.
Northwest shot 43 percent in the first half while holding Faith to just 22 percent. The Rangers also dominated in the paint, outscoring the Warriors 30-8.
The onslaught continued in the second half as the Rangers built their lead to a game-high 46 points and unloaded its bench. Sixty-two of the Rangers' 97 points came from reserves.
Isaiah Austin scored a game-high 20 points, 13 of them in the second half, and added 10 boards for his first career double-double.
Shelby McEwen added 12 points and seven rebounds and
Keelin Jackson (10) and
Lewis Freeman (11) each finished with double digit rebounds.
Seth LeDay had 17 points in 11 minutes.
Syverio Pollard led Faith with 23 points, followed by a double-double from Chauncey Banks (15 points, 12 rebounds).
Northwest will host Southern-Shreveport (6-4) on Tues., Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.
