HERNANDO – Northwest softball picked up a pair of signees on Thursday from Hernando High School, inking seniors Katelyn Holley and Sallie Rose Carver to National Letters of Intent for 2015-16.
Both play infield and pitch and the duo are also good hitters.
"Kat is a great pick up for us as she can play the hot corners, pitch and hit for power," second-year assistant coach
Carie Dever Boaz said. "She has tremendous knowledge of the game."
Holley hit .415 with five doubles, two triples, a home run and 12 RBIs last season.
"Sallie Rose is a very versatile athlete,"
Dever Boaz said. "I could honestly could see her playing anywhere on the field but catcher. She is a great hitter with good speed and has a tremendous knowledge of the game."
Carver missed most of her junior year due to unforeseen circumstances, but posted solid numbers this past summer for the DC Illusion, hitting .400 with a .462 on-base percentage.
Mike Rowan is the head softball coach at Northwest and enters his 12th year with the program in 2015.
